“Pen 2 Paper” Book Review with Sean P

The autobiography of Gucci Mane

This week’s book review is none other that Gucci Mane, Gucci man, Gucci Mane!!

Here on the Pen to Paper Book Review I want to cover a wide range of material, not just deep history and thick dense knowledge so I wanted to venture off and get something outside of my own comfort zone. Now prior to buying this book I was never a real big Gucci mane fan musically or other wise, but I want to tell how pleasantly surprise I was when I started to read about the life and times of Gucci.

The writer did a wonderful job detailing all the aspects of his family, environment and dynamics that lead him to become the person that we all know today. Gucci mane was very transparent in his illegal activities, why he felt he had to part take in them and even HOW he got caught each time. He offered a lot of play by play details of his times in jail and what the life behind bars is really like which I think a lot of young people need to read to understand what that type life leads to outside of rap videos. The writer goes into some of the rap beefs that he had and also how fatal some of those encounters became at times. This was a well written and laid out book. I found myself having a hard time putting it down and I was blazing through chapters faster than I ever thought when i purchased the book.

Lastly, I would say to any parent out there, I know that we all want our kids to read certain kinds of content that we feel they need, but the biggest struggle can be to get them to read anything at all 1st. I would say that this book maybe a good gateway book to start understanding reading can be fun, it can be about someone you think is entertaining and you can learn more facts than you thought from anyone.
