When I think about classic Louisiana Soul, former 70’s R&B singer and Grammy award winner Joe Simon comes to mind. He is now a minister. Bishop Joe Simon will be honored, with a boulevard in his hometown of Simmesport, Louisiana.

You are invited  to attend The Joe Simon welcome reception, Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at 7:00 pm  at 529 Norwood St., Riverside Elementary Gym/Auditorium in Simmesport.

The boulevard dedication will be Thursday, August 24th @ 12:00 Noon on Joe Simon Boulevard (La. Hwy. 1 in Simmesport).  Learn more about Bishop Joe, below, and enjoy the throwback performance of one of his greatest hits  “Power Of Love” on Soul Train.
