One of the things I love about living in Louisiana is, our many unique festivals. Now we have a new one to add to the list. This weekend take your children to the first ever Lafayette Reads Together Fest.
I am excited about this community-wide literacy event, Lafayette Reads Together. It is Saturday, February 4, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Main Library, 301 W. Congress St., Downtown Lafayette. It’s a fun filled day for families, comic book fans, readers, superheroes, and everyone. I hope to see you there.
The Lafayette Public Library will host a day of family fun, focusing on the themes inspired by the graphic novel Ms. Marvel: No Normal by G. Willow Wilson. Activities will include Indian cooking demonstrations, dance performances featuring classical Indian and Bollywood-inspired moves, a concert by the Mehnaz Hoosein band, henna tattoo artists, science experiments from the UL-Lafayette Chemistry Club and a superhero photo shoot from AOC Community Media. The event is free and open to all ages.
