Mother’s Day Spending Vs Father’s Day Spending

There is a notion we spend more money on Mother’s Day compared to Father’s Day. What do you think? Do you spend more on Mother’s Day? Let’s face it moms have a full plate every single day so we feel they are worth the extra money and love.

StoryBlocks

We turn to Lendidu for the facts on the amount of money spent between the two holidays and the results are an eye-opener.

The firm surveyed 500 people who have parents still alive, and the results are astounding. Personally speaking, a pool of 500 to represent the nation seems like a small number of people but I digress.

The key finding which had most people amazed was the amount of money spent (2018) on the two days. There was not a huge difference in spending between the two holidays as most people thought. The average money spent on Mother’s Day was $75.02 and Father’s Day was $74.13. Of course, your results may vary but this is not a huge difference. I think most people think we spend more on moms than dads and the results of this survey prove that wrong. If we are to believe this survey, we spend about the same amount of money on both parents.

  • Some of the other findings included 91% of the respondents said they plan to spend money or get their mother a gift. Those who responded they would not buy a gift for their mom on Mother’s Day reported they don’t talk anymore or they didn’t have the money to do so or simply, mom doesn’t want a gift.
  • From the same pool of those surveyed, more than 80% said they plan to buy their dad a gift for Father’s Day.
  • When asked which holiday is more important, the responses were; 24.2 percent of respondents answered “Mother’s Day”, 1.8 percent of respondents answered “Father’s Day”, 74 percent of respondents answered, “Neither, they are equally important”.
  • A majority said they favor combining the two holidays.

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY MOM!
