
The Westminster Christian Academy Crusaders cruised to a 49-7 victory over WCA of Lafayette last week.
WCA-Opelousas got things rolling in the first quarter as Stephen George threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Austin Dunbar, and then added a 16-yard touchdown pass to Evan Lemon later in the first quarter.
The Crusaders added another score in the second quarter as George scored on an eight-yard touchdown run.
WCA-Opelousas blew the game open in the third quarter with three touchdown drives, and all scores were of at least 45 yards. Kyle Horde scored on a 53-yard touchdown run, George found Lemon for a 76-yard touchdown pass, and then capped it with a 46-yard touchdown run by Jack Hunt.
WCA-Opelousas added a 20-yard touchdown run by Cayden Brown in the fourth, and WCA-Lafayette got on the board with less than two minutes to go in the fourth with a touchdown.
WCA-Opelousas junior running back-linebacker Kyle Horde was selected as the Player of the Game, after rushing for 118 yards on 11 carries with one touchdown and 11 tackles on defense.
This week’s game, with Jason Burns and Chad Jones on the call, will be Opelousas Catholic at Sacred Heart of Ville Platte. Pregame begins at 6:45 and kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
