Who doesn’t love the sandwich? It’s convenient, it’s mobile and in most cases,  economical.

It could be white or wheat bread or french bread or flatbread. The bread can vary as much as what you place between the bread.

Thrillist recently published a list of the best states to live if you love stuff between your bread.  It should come as no surprise if you’re talking food, Louisiana will always make the cut. And in true fashion, Louisiana did rank in the top 5 states with the best sandwiches.

It’s no surprise the top states on this list all have some form of iconic sandwiches attached to their reputation. Take for instance Philadelphia, you’ve heard of the Philly cheesesteak. It is no surprise Pennsylvania would rank in the top states for the sandwich. And Rank they did!

Here are the top 5 states to live for the best sandwiches.

  1. Pennsylvania
  2. New Jersey
  3. New York
  4. Louisiana
  5. Illinois

Locally in Acadiana, there are too many great places to eat meat between bread.  Then we have the famous po’boy. And with the gulf right there, you can get fresh shrimp, oysters, and fish. Serve up that po’boy with a side of potato salad and a cup of gumbo and you are set!
