We love our crawfish here in Louisiana. This season could be a big disappointment. Crawfish season is still a couple months away, but a couple factors don’t bode well for a bountiful harvest. We’ve had record heat, and prolonged drought this summer. It’s hard for them to burrow into the mud when there isn’t any. This makes nesting nearly impossible. Water temperatures and barometric pressure have remained high. Both are negative factors. The upcoming season may be a scarce one. That means prices will likely be high.
