I love award shows. So I was over the moon when I was invited to be a presenter at the 3rd Annual ZBT Awards. The Zydeco Blues Trail Ride Honors and Awards Show is Sunday, December 18, at the AVYA Center in Houston, Texas. The 2016 show is dedicated to the memory of Jackie Neal and Buckwheat Zydeco Stanley Dural Jr.
One of the featured performers is Lenny Williams. He will also be honored as the recipient of the ZBT Bobby Womack Lifetime Achievement Award. Queen Ida will receive the Clifton Chenier Lifetime Achievement Award. Step Rideau will be honored with the Icon Award. Lawrence “Black” Ardoin is receiving the Living Legend Award.
