Lundi Love: Pizza Village

This week on Lundi Love, we are showing some to Pizza Village on Kaliste Saloom.

Pizza Village has been a popular pizza spot for years! The Moss Street location has been open around close to 50 years. Pizza Village Restaurant started off an idea between two friends who were in their twenties. After hard work and penny pinching, Glenn Landry and James Buddy Tarpley managed to open Pizza Village in 1971. They both agreed that they wanted a unique product. So after trial and error, and using the freshest ingredients, these two young entrepreneurs came up a crust and sauce unlike any on the market.

This weekend, I was craving pizza and decided why not go somewhere local. And I remember about the delicious Cajun restaurant on Kaliste Saloom. I love this restaurant’s cajun take on a pizza. The pizza crust flaky light and crisp. This local pizza joint serves up a generous amount of spicy toppings on each of their pizza pies. The toppings usually scatter all over the plate.  The spice in their pizza is the most refreshing part. So much flavor. But I really do love the atmosphere. It has a down-home Louisiana feel.

This place can easily handle large crowds. Think about it. The last time, you visited a Pizza Village was probably for a work get together or sports team gathering. Am I right?  We once held a cross country team party at Pizza Village. I must admit, at first, I worried about the server. We were such a big group with little siblings jump in and out seats. But the server was super smiley and handled our orders with confidence. The pizza came out fast and far as I know, everyone’s order was correct.
