Students will have more time to work on their creations for an upcoming contest.

The Louisiana Department of Education has announced that the deadline for the 2020 Environmental awareness Arts and Language Contest has been extended. This decision was made because of the COVID-19 crisis. Any student working on a submission must send it in by June 15.

This year’s contest theme is “Take It Outside! Explore Nature’s Classroom.” Students are to create something that shows the crucial role that nature plays in education. This can be demonstrated through language or visual art.

All students in Louisiana between the ages of 5 and 18 are invited to participate There are four categories. The winners will be announced in June 2020. The top finishers will be awarded $200, $100, and $75 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and also be honored at a special event.
