The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a flash flood warning for St. Landry Parish, Lafayette Parish, Acadia Parish, Jefferson Davis Parish and Vermilion Parish. The warning is in effect until 12:30 p.m.

The NWS has also issued a flood watch for the following parishes: Allen, Avoyelles, Beauregard, East Cameron, Evangeline, Lafayette, Iberia, Vermilion, Acadia, Calcasieu, Jefferson Davis, Rapides, Acadia, Calcasieu, St. Landry, St. Martin, Vermilion, Vernon and West Cameron and southeast Texas. That watch is in effect until Thursday morning.

There has been a flood warning for the following rivers and areas in Louisiana. The Calcasieu River near Oberlin, the Calcasieu River near Kinder, Bayou Nezpique near Basile, Mermentau River near Mermentau, Bayou Vermilion near Carencro and Bayou Anacoco near Rosepine.

NWS states that flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible and that residents should expect between four to eight inches of rainfall, with higher amounts possible. Also, excessive runoff from the rainfall could result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone areas.
