The Opelousas Catholic Vikings suffered their first loss of the season.
After scoring 40-plus points in the previous two games, OC was shut out on the road in a hard-fought 3-0 loss to Sacred Heart of Ville Platte. The loss drops to 3-1 and 0-1 in District 5-1A play.
Neither team was able to find the end zone as the lone points of the game came with 11:42 left in the fourth quarter. That is when the Trojans kicked. William Champman made a 19-yard field goal for the lone points of the contest.
Opelousas Catholic senior wide receiver-defensive back Roderick Tezeno was selected as Player of the Game. Tezeno had seven receptions for 87 yards, while also having two pass breakups and a touchdown-saving tackle on defense.
This week’s contest, with Jason Burns and Chad Jones on the call, will be Opelousas Catholic at St. Edmund. Pregame begins at 6:45 and kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
