People from all over the world are showing their support for the victims of the historic August flooding here in Louisiana. When going through trials and tribulations we all could use a good dose of encouragement and inspiration.
UL- Lafayette is hosting a talk by Dan Nevins a Highly decorated soldier who lost both legs below his knee while he was in combat in Iraq. This appearence is sponsored by UL Lafayette’s Kinesiology Professional Association (KPA), Nevins will be speaking at Bourgeois Hall room 153B on Wednesday, September 21st at 12:15pm.
He will also be teaching a yoga master class at Down Dog Yoga on 2946 Johnston St. at 5.45pm. 100% of the proceeds from the class will benefit flood victims. As a yoga instructor, Nevins has utilized special techniques that have helped him cope with trauma. A meet and greet will be held at the studio following the yoga class.
