Chance the Rapper is one of the performers you can see this year at the Essence Festival.  The Coloring Book MC will light up the main stage at the Mercedes Benz Superdome on Sunday.

I think it’s safe to say Chance the Rapper is having the best year ever.  Earlier this year he walked away with 3 Grammy Awards.   He was recently awarded the BET Humanitarian Award.  He is only 24 years old and had this to say during his acceptance speech: “To be receiving something like this at my age, it feels good as hell. It feels a little early to get something like this, but my God doesn’t make mistakes.” “I like to think he’s putting enormous pressure on me to see how I react.”
