The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed life as we know it. Classrooms were closed in March, sporting events have been delayed and this summer has turned into the longest summer to date.

Currently, Louisiana is still in phase 2 and could move to Phase 3 at the end of July depending on the number of active COVID-19 cases.

Officials have announced that school is expected to start on schedule this fall. Louisiana Department of Education has put together a plan and list of guidelines for reopening that schools can follow.

This guide will serve as a resource for schools to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. Each district will ultimately their own decisions for a procedure when students return to the classrooms.

This guide outlines suggestions for bus capacity and student group size. It also details a way to monitor student symptoms, the use of face coverings, and the handling of food preparation and meals.
