The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns exceeded a lot of expectations in their first year under Billy Napier. Now we know their schedule for year two as the Sun Belt Conference unveiled their schedule for the 2019 season on Friday. Among the highlights are three nationally televised games in primetime.

The second year of the Billy Napier era will start off with a true test against the Mississippi State Bulldogs inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The Cajuns will then stay inside the friendly confines of Cajun Field for a pair of games against Liberty on September 7th and Texas Southern on the 14th. The non-conference slate will wrap up with a trip up to Athens, Ohio to take on the Ohio Bobcats.

Louisiana’s non-conference slate will get started up at the end of September in Statesboro against Georgia Southern, followed by a bye week which is a new addition to the scheduling format in the Sun Belt Conference.

After a week off, the Cajuns start the month of October with a Wednesday night matchup against the App State Mountaineers that will be featured on ESPN2. Eight days later, the Cajuns will travel up to Jonesboro for a Thursday night game against the Arkansas State Red Wolves that will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Louisiana will have the following week off before starting off November against Texas State for Homecoming Weekend. They’ll have to shift focus quickly though as they’ll be headed up to Conway, South Carolina for an ESPNU contest against the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina on November 7th. After the nationally televised game, the Cajuns will travel down to South Alabama for their final road trip.

The regular season will then wrap up with a two-game homestand against the Troy Trojans on November 23rd and UL Monroe on November 30th.

Below is the complete schedule with Home Games listed in BOLD. Kickoff times will be announced at a later date.
