Louisiana Ragin Cajuns Come Up Short in Series Finale Against Coastal Carolina

The Louisiana Ragin Cajuns may have won the weekend series, but it ended on a bit of a sour note with an 11-9 loss to the Chanticleers of Coastal Carolina.

How It Happened:

The Cajuns got on the board early with a groundout to shortstop resulting in Hayden Cantrelle scoring, but the Chanticleers wasted little time taking the lead with a three-run inning highlighted by an RBI double to right center by Parker Chavers.

After a two-run single by Bradley Riopelle in the third, the Cajuns responded with a three-run inning that was jumpstarted by a Daniel Lahare home run. However, Coastal Carolina put up three more runs with one swing of the bat by Jake Wright as he sent one flying out of center-field to make it an 8-4 ballgame.

Zach Biermann pushed the Chanticleers lead even further with a two-run single in the fifth. The Cajuns tried to fight back late in the ballgame scoring off of a wild pitch and an RBI single from Lahare.

Big Number: 12

It was a weekend of missed opportunities and Sunday was no different, stranding 12 baserunners in the process.

Player of the Game: Zach Biermann

Biermann made the most of his at-bats with three RBIs on three ABs. Solid performance from him to avoid the sweep.

Next Up: Friday vs Georgia State; First Pitch at 6:30 pm
