Honoring Legendary Women
From the fearless trailblazers of the past to today’s change-makers, women of all backgrounds have paved the way for progress. Because of them, we rise, we thrive, we lead!
As we celebrate this month, we recognize six outstanding women—three nationally known and three from Southwest Louisiana—who have made a lasting impact.
National Icons:
💜 Kamala Harris – The first woman, first Black woman, and first South Asian woman to serve as Vice President of the United States.
💜 Michelle Obama – A lawyer, author, and former First Lady who has championed education, health, and empowerment for women and girls. 💜 Maya Angelou– A poet, author, and activist whose words continue to empower and inspire.
Southwest Louisiana Trailblazers:
💜 Tracie Millard – A dynamic leader, educator, and faith-driven mentor empowering women to excel in leadership and entrepreneurship.
💜 Andrea G. King – CEO of the United Way of Acadiana, dedicated to strengthening communities and advocating for families in need.
💜 Monique Blanco Boulet – made history in January 2024 when she was sworn in as Lafayette Parish’s first female Mayor-President. A proven leader known for her integrity and effectiveness, Boulet has a strong track record of delivering results in Acadiana. Prior to her election, Boulet served as the CEO of the Acadiana Planning Commission (APC),
