New music is a good way to escape the reality of living through a pandemic. New to the Z105.9 playlist is “Do It”, Toni Braxton’s first release since 2018. She recently signed with Island Records. This track was written by Toni and the man she calls her musical “Husband” Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds. The song will appear on her upcoming album. No release date has been scheduled.
“Do It” is a heartfelt breakup song. Braxton wraps her sultry voice around the lyrics focusing on ending a bad relationship. “No need to say you feel some kind of way Just do what you need to do Do what you need to do He ain’t gonna change If you take him back, it’s gon’ be the same Just do what you need to do Do what you need to do”
The song is short and sweet coming in at under three minutes: 2:54. There are three videos for “Do It” one a lyric video, the lips video, and the quarantine clip shot by Toni on her phone. She calls it the lace mix.
The seven-time Grammy Award winner is currently engaged to the co-founder of Cash Money Records Birdman, whose government name is Bryan Christopher Williams. They are planning to jump the broom later this year.
On social media Toni Braxton describes herself as a Mother First! Singer, Actress, Entertainer, Chef, Sister, and Daughter. She is one of the most dynamic voices of this generation. Check out the new song below.
