Port Barre’s Cracklin’ Festival Is This Weekend

The Cracklin’ Festival returns to Port Barre this Thursday – Sunday, November 10th – 13th. Thursday is Family Night, with free admission from 5 til 10. Friday features live music from Rusty Metoyer and the Zydeco Krush, Jamie Bergeron and the Kickin Cajuns, and Brad James Swallow Band.

Saturday, the festival opens at 10 am. There will be a parade down Saizan St. Chapter 3 band kicks off the music at 11, followed by Tet’ Dur’. The visiting queens will be introduced at 4.

Music at 5 pm with Dustin Sonnier and the Wanted, followed by C.J. Vedell and the Zydeco Grapplers, and Clay Cormier and the Highway Boys.

Activities start at 10 am on Sunday. Live music starts at 11 with Kendal Shaffer and the Honktonk Army, followed by Kevin Naquin and the Ossun Playboys, and Ryan Foret and Foret Tradition.

The crowning of Miss Teen & Miss Cracklin will be at 2.


The festival will be held at Veterans Park, 504 Saizan Ave. Port Barre.
