Most people don’t realize the pace at which technology is currently advancing. Scammers are creative, tech-savvy and now using artificial Intelligence (AI) to steal victims’ money.

Scammers can clone the voice of your child or grandchild with just a few seconds of audio from a social media post. Here is the common scenario. The victim gets a phone call and the voice on the other end is a loved one in trouble. The scammer will play on the fear and urgency.

The best way to handle this situation is to hang up and call the number that you know belongs to your family member. The scammers will also send emails about a supposed problem with your bank account. These have been pretty obvious until recently because of poor grammar and spelling. Scammers are using AI to clean that up.
