Schools Closing on Thursday Due to Severe Weather

A severe weather outbreak is possible across the state and Acadiana.

Damaging winds will be the main threat but tornadoes are possible too along with heavy rains.

Localized Flash Flooding is a threat in areas that receive over 2-4″ inches.

Schools to close on Thursday, Nov. 1, due to severe weather:

  • All Lafayette parish public schools will be closed
  •  All Catholic schools in Lafayette Parish will be closed
  • Lafayette Christian Academy
  • Acadiana Renaissance Charter (Youngsville campus)
  • Lafayette Renaissance Charter Academy
  • Gethsemane Christian Academy/LaPetite Early Childhood
  • New Beginnings Christian Academy (Breaux Bridge)
  • Willow Charter (Lafayette)
  • For My Child Learning Center (Lafayette)
  • United Christian Academy (Lafayette)
  • St. Cecilia School (Broussard)
  • First Baptist Christian School (Lafayette)
  • All Sugar ‘n Spice preschools and Vacation Station
