It’s not every day that a childhood dream comes true.  This was my recent experience talking with a member of one of my favorite groups, The Jackson Five.

Singer and guitarist, Tito Jackson is a founding member of his family’s musical group The Jackson 5.  He taught himself to play on his father’s guitar while dad was away at work, and the rest is music history.

Growing up I bought every song and every album released by The Jackson 5.  I was their number one fan in Alexandria, Louisiana.  The walls of my bedroom were covered with their faces. I watched the cartoon, and all the television shows and specials. I never got to see them perform live in concert.

Imagine my surprise when Tito sends an email to me thanking Z1059 for playing his new song, One Way Street.  I replied to the email and requested an interview.  When he responded, I almost fell off my chair. I never thought it would be that easy to talk to music royalty.

My conversation with Tito was a full-circle moment for me.  I was that little excited girl all over again.  We talked about his latest album, Tito Time. Tito talked about growing up with Motown, Fatherhood, Family, his personal style, growing old in the music business, and why this is his time to shine.  I felt like I was talking to an old family friend.  It was one of those moments I will never forget.  Give it a listen and check out this new song and let me know what you think.
