Let’s say you are a singer. You have spent most of your childhood on stage singing and playing guitar, from school events to local festivals. You are experienced. Nothing can prepare you for a stage in front of celebrities on a national television show.
This week during the Blind Auditions on NBC’s The Voice, Sara Collins made her debut.
Sara Collins said she doesn’t remember much from her performance in front of The Voice judges. According to Collins, her memories of the experience are still blurry. The episode aired this past Monday. Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, Blake Shelton, and John Legend listened with their backs turned as Collins sang a rendition of Heidi Newfield’s “Johnny and June.”
Collin thinks she may have had a panic attack because she felt like she couldn’t breathe. When Kelly Clarkson and Nick Jonas pressed the button and turned their chairs around, that feeling of anxiety intensified. She said it was a tough decision but she decided to pick Kelly Clarkson as her coach.
Sara Collins will be one of the artists performing at Bo’s Extravaganza on April 4th and 5th. Bo’s Extravaganza is a two-day festival celebrating John Schneider’s 60th birthday. There will music on 3 stages, car stunts and more.
Sara Collins is 18 years old and originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She now lives in Dandridge, Tennessee. She is a regular performer at Blake Shelton’s restaurant, Ole Red Gatlinburg.
She loves fishing, riding on ATVs, and spending time outdoors. Sara Collins also loves music. At the age of 8, she made the decision to be a musician. She started singing lessons, learning how to play guitar and now she is on her journey.
Sara has opened up for Hunter Hayes. She performed at the Flambeau Festival that also featured Sam Hunt, Hank Williams, Jr., and Lynyrd Skynrd. And she is competing on NBC’s The Voice.
