Today is ELECTION DAY!! Not just for the next president but also for seats in Congress, amendments, taxes, judges. Too many people gave up too much too much for our right to exercise this freedom. Did you handle your business today??! I did.
I’ve even got a lil election fact for ya! Ever wondered why elections are always held on Tuesdays?! Here is why:
In 1845, Congress needed to pick a time for Americans to vote. Since most people traveled by horse and buggy, farmers needed a day to get to the county seat, a day to vote, and a day to get back, without interfering with the three days of worship. So that left Tuesday and Wednesday, but Wednesday was market day. So, Tuesday it was.
