Wayne Singleton and Same Ol 2 Step have a new album: Built Creole Tough. This title is so fitting, because he is. He is a tough hardworking Zydeco Musician, family man and a cancer survivor.
Wayne Singleton, founder, lead vocalist and accordionist of the band, Wayne Singleton & Same Ol 2 Step was raised in Lewisburg, Louisiana. Like most Zydeco musicians, he started playing music at 7 years old. Wayne writes most of his own songs. He has mastered a number of instruments.
He has played music with the greats, Beau Jocque, Keith Frank, Chris Ardoin, Zydeco Force, Sean Ardoin, Andre, Thierry and many more. Wayne Singleton is one of our Zydeco Ambassadors, spreading our uniquely Louisiana Music, all over the world. Wayne & Same Ol 2 Step will make you dance. The new album Built Creole Tough has 15 jamming tracks.
The first single is what you get when new school Zydeco meets old school R&B, it’s a Zydeco cover of the Lionel Richie Hit Stuck On You. When I asked Wayne why he chose this song for his album he said, “It’s one of those songs I like and played during our live shows and just thought it would be a good fit for my album.” See Wayne Singleton when you can catch him live and pass a good time, take the time to dance and pick up a copy of the new album Built Creole Tough
