A dental office in Lafayette wants your Halloween candy. Not all of just some of it. So, this year, after going door to door to get candy, when you sit down with your child to inspect the candy to make sure it is safe to eat, ask your child if they want to share. And not just share with you but with soldiers, military members, and others.
The folks at Barras Family Dentistry will be putting together packages for Operation Gratitude’s Care Package Program. These packages will be sent to U.S. Troops, Veterans, and First Responders. But before they can send anything off, they need treats to put inside the boxes. So Barras Dentistry is conducting Candy for A Cause: The Buy-Back Program. They want to buy your children’s trick or treat candy. Barra’s Dentristy will pay $1 per pound of candy donated up to 5 pounds. This office has been doing this every season for the last four years. This is a great way to reduce how much sugar your kids consume Halloween. The less sugar ate, the fewer cavities. And you are also helping bring a little happiness to someone possibly deployed or just homesick.
Bring you cand to Barras Family Dentistry located at 1700 Kaliste Saloom Road, Bldg 4 starting on November 1 through November 7 during business hours. Everyone is invited to bring in candy, young or old. So if you did not get very many visitors on Halloween night and you have extra candy, don’t eat it, donate it. The more candy Barras Dentistry can collect the better.
