Hello Lafayette, this is D’Anthony Monet, the new Program Director/Brand Manager and Morning Radio Personality at KFXZ 1059. I’m glad to be back in Louisiana and the greater Acadiana area, after many years of living in several other states. I recently relocated from West Palm Beach after nearly sixteen years in Florida. I invite you to join me every weekday morning for our new morning show, D’Anthony & Co.
As a part of the new morning show, Z1059 & Z1059.com presents the Z Mini-Concert, Friday mornings at 9:05. The Z Mini-Concert features one of your favorite Throwback Artist, like Anthony Hamilton, Chaka Khan, The O’Jays, Sade, and this Friday featuring The Whispers.
The Whispers have always been one of my all-time favorite vocal groups. Songs like, “Lady”, “And the Beat Goes On”, “It’s a Love Thing”, “Olivia, (Lost and Turned Out)”, and their signature, “Rock Steady” are just a few of their incredible hits throughout the years.
The Whispers hail from Los Angeles, CA and have scored hit records since the late 1960’s. The Whiper’s were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and were winners of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s Pioneer Award in 2008. By popular vote the group was inducted into the Soul Music Hall of Fame at SoulMusic.com in December of 2012, and The Official R&B Music Hall of Fame in 2014. And the Beat Goes On!
