Cross that River is a musical tribute to the Black cowboys. A quarter of the cowhands in the West were Black. Harlem composer, Allan Harris, honors their history with a show that mixes jazz, blues and country music to move the audience through one man’s journey across the Sabine River to freedom in the Wild West. Each song tells a unique story.

Cross That River, is a musical journey, that tells the story of Blue, a slave who runs from Louisiana to Texas and becomes one of America’s first Cowboys. Cross That River portrays a significant moment in American history where these men lived and helped settle the West.
